Python comment

Python comments are used to provide additional information about your code, and they are not executed by the Python interpreter. There are two types of comments in Python: single-line comments and multi-line comments.

Single-line comments begin with the hash symbol (#) and continue until the end of the line. They are often used to explain what a particular line of code does. For example:

```
# This line prints 'Hello, world!'
print("Hello, world!")
```

Multi-line comments, also known as block comments, are used to provide more detailed explanations of code. They start and end with three consecutive quotation marks (""") and can span multiple lines. For example:

```
"""
This is an example of a multi-line comment. It can be used to provide more detailed explanations of code or to temporarily disable a section of code.
print("This code is currently disabled.")
"""
print("Hello, world!")
```

It is important to use comments in your code to make it more understandable and easier to maintain. Well-written comments can help you and other developers understand the purpose and functionality of your code, making it easier to modify or update in the future.

There are different ways to comment multiple lines of code in Python depending on the text editor or IDE you are using. Here are some common methods:

1. Comment multiple lines shortcut on Mac:

On Mac, you can use the following shortcut to comment multiple lines in Python:
- Select the lines of code you want to comment
- Press the keys "Command" and "/" at the same time
This will add the hash symbol (#) to the beginning of each line, commenting them out.

2. Comment multiple lines in Python VSCode:

In Visual Studio Code, you can comment multiple lines of code in Python using the following steps:
- Select the lines of code you want to comment
- Press the keys "Command" and "K" followed by "Command" and "C" on Mac, or "Ctrl" and "K" followed by "Ctrl" and "C" on Windows/Linux
This will comment out the selected lines using the hash symbol (#).

3. Comment multiple lines shortcut in PyCharm:

In PyCharm, you can use the following shortcut to comment multiple lines of code in Python:
- Select the lines of code you want to comment
- Press the keys "Command" and "/" on Mac, or "Ctrl" and "/" on Windows/Linux
This will add the hash symbol (#) to the beginning of each line, commenting them out.

It's important to note that Python comments end at the end of the line, so any code after the comment on the same line will not be executed. Additionally, commenting out code can be useful for debugging or temporarily disabling sections of code, but it's generally not recommended to leave commented-out code in your program for long periods of time as it can clutter your code and make it harder to read.
